P4 had great fun today celebrating our Ancient Egyptian Day! We completed lots of activities related to ancient Egypt to bring our topic to a close.
We began the day with an Egyptian activity sheet and became Egyptian farmers by planting some crops. We are especially excited about tasting our beans once they have grown!
After break, we worked in groups to complete a technology task. Our task was to design and build a pyramid using only newspaper and tape. It was a lot trickier than we thought! Once we had finished we took time to look at all of the pyramids and then voted for the best design - well done Team 2!
After lunch we made Egyptian Senet games. We coloured the throwing sticks, designed the playing board and made the counters. We are looking forward to learning how to play and then challenging our family and friends! To finsh our day, we watched The Prince of Egypt DVD which tells the story of Moses. It helped us to see what life must have been like for the Pharaoh and the slaves in ancient Egypt during Bible times.
