P4 Maths Week
16th Oct 2023
To celebrate Maths Week, we started a new topic in P4 - measure!
Today we were very excited to do some practical maths in the classoom using a range of items and non-standard units to measure them with.
We had to remember to start at the edge of each item and not to leave any gaps in between. Once we had finished measuring, we looked at the results which we had recorded and then dicussed our findings.
We realised that hands and pencils were not very good units of measurement as they can vary in size. This helped us to understand the importance of standard measurements, like metres and centimetres, so that we can measure with greater accuracy!
